title. Camposaz Proposal Document

date. October 23, 2018

cityLincoln, Nebraska + Trento, Italy

detailsAs a collaborative partner of the local design company, Fargamere, as well as a past urban lumber utilization champion with the South of Downtown CDO, I developed a proposal for Camposaz, a self-construction workshop based out of Trento, Italy. In partnership with Nolan Golgert, lead designer at Forgamere, we wanted to better engage the community in wood-use projects in specific regard to the Ash Lumber that was being lost in the community.

At this very same time, the South of Downtown CDO was in search of uses for a site on which a vacant house would soon be demolished. We approached both the CDO and Camposaz to utilize their site by constructing a short-term structure that would activate the space while underlining the sustainable aspects of urban lumber utilization.

These documents were prepared for Camposaz, as a creative RFP to bring the team into the states, leading alongside the makers and woodworkers currently residing in the community. Nolan and I saw this as a particularly profound opportunity to collaborate with a group of practitioners that could share knowledge and perspective that we perhaps are not accustomed to in Lincoln, Nebraska. Likewise, we saw this as an opportunity to show what the states, and more specifically, Nebraska, could contribute to the story of wood construction, utilization, and overall design.

To the right, is the comprehensive document sent to Camposaz, including site details, budgetary items, and project background. All photos and complimentary materials are of the Near South neighborhood.
