details. "Wax Over Water" is a multidisciplinary project featuring spoken word poetry, music, and conversations exploring two intersectional themes: a young girl’s transition into womanhood and her transition into real estate whilst originating from a historically redlined community now gentrifying. The co-creation of this content with musicians, photographers, and cinematographers creates a robust and authentic audio-visual experience addressing resilience, community empowerment, and urban development. A multi-part project, the first of the project is the physical print collection, featuring photographs taken from Omaha-based and Omaha-native photographers, including Joshua Foo, Byron Gully, Juwan Walton, Abiola Kosoko, Hayden Abbound, Kevin Kabore, and Lewis Culliver.
